Urbis appoints Sally Herman to Chair of the Board
The property advisory firm Urbis has announced the appointment of Ms Sally Herman to the position of Chair of the Board.
In announcing the appointment the Managing Director of Urbis, John Wynne, stated, ‘we are delighted that Sally has accepted the role of Chair with our company. Urbis is pursuing a strategy of continued growth and expansion focussed on providing high calibre specialised services to our clients and Sally’s commercial and professional experience and insights are vital to ensuring we create a client focused organisation that delivers this’.
Sally Herman has had a successful career in financial services in both Australia and the United States. She has spent many years with the Westpac Group running major business units in almost every operating division. Her most recent role was heading up Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, a role she held through the merger with St.George and the global financial crisis. Prior to this she spent 3 years as the General Manager for Advice in BT Financial Group, driving a new strategy and culture focussed on quality advice in the Westpac Financial Planning network and the creation of a new external planning group, Magnitude. Sally sat on the Board of many Westpac and BT subsidiaries, including the Responsible Entities and Insurance Boards.
Immediately prior to Westpac, Sally worked at Macquarie Bank where she set up the Private Bank and the Melbourne Capital Markets desk. In addition, Sally sits on the Board of FSA Group Limited, a publicly listed financial services company, and several not for profit boards. She is actively involved in the community, in particular in the areas of children’s health and indigenous culture and education.
