The Alyangula Master Plan, commissioned by GEMCO, proposed a new FIFO village that will provide 396 accommodation units and central facilities. The village is situated in the bushland reserve adjoining the golf course on Groote Eylandt (Northern Territory) with the opportunity to provide unique bushland views and water glimpses.
Urbis assisted Archipelago by developing landscape concept plans, cost estimates, risk analysis and an illustrative report that identified how the landscape will integrate the natural bushland with the proposed temporary accommodations to provide a restorative landscape setting. This was achieved through a zoning strategy, identifying themed areas to offer a variety of experiences including distinctive entries, memorable features, environmental protection, open space for visual relief, activity and exercise, privacy and relaxation.
