Airds Bradbury Renewal Project

Located approximately 2.5km southeast of the Campbelltown CBD, the study area consists of the Airds public housing estate as well as a clustering of public housing located in the adjoining suburb of Bradbury. It is recognised as one of the most socially and economically disadvantaged areas in Sydney with approximately 95% of the existing housing with the study area is owned and managed by Housing NSW.

A majority of the study area was developed during the late 1970s and early 1980s, using Radburn design principles, which in the location and socio-economic setting have contributed to social problems. It has a residential population of approximately 3,740 persons (ABS, 2006) who are housed in approximately 1,550 dwellings.
