Stephen Buhmann has more than 25 years’ experience in the planning and development sector.

Stephen holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and master’s degrees in urban planning and business administration. He specialises in strategic and statutory planning, project management, planning and delivering infrastructure, and developing policies. He advises clients from both the public and private sectors, and is an expert in the planning and development processes in Queensland.

At Urbis, Stephen has acted as principal planner on a number of projects, delivering advice and planning outcomes for master planned communities, mixed-use developments, commercial centres and tourism projects. Highlights include developing a master plan for the remote mining community of Alyangula on Groote Eylandt; delivering a land use approval strategy for the Gold Coast’s Coomera Town Centre; and overcoming heritage and design challenges to deliver Central Village, a major urban regeneration project in Brisbane.

I like solving problems for people. If I can leave work knowing that someone doesn’t have to worry about a development issue because I’ve dealt with it, then it’s been a good day.
