Kate McCann has been providing management, strategic and financial expertise to some of Australia’s top companies for a significant period. Kate holds degrees in Business Management, Science and Finance, with a distinguished career in management consultancy, culminating in her appointment as partner of the firm McKinsey & Company.
Kate is one of Sydney’s top strategic, management and HR experts with her experience spanning a number of key industries, including IT, insurance, retail, finance and banking.
Michael Barlow
Managing Director
Michael is an urban planner with over 25 years experience including 17 years as a consultant to government and the development industry. As Managing Director of Urbis he is also responsible for the strategic management of the firm. Michael provides advice on major development projects throughout Australia for a wide range of clients and regularly provides expert evidence on a wide range of development proposals and issues before various forums including the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, Independent Panels, the Federal Court of Australia, the Land and Environment Court (NSW) and the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Tim Blythe
Director
Tim is a very well regarded urban planning consultant with in excess 20 years experience, having worked within state and local government as well as the private sector. He provides advice on development proposals for a diverse range of clients that involve the assessment and development of statutory controls for scheme amendments, analysis of issues relating to urban planning matters and advice relating to the impact of such issues on their project.
Sarah Emons
Director
Sarah is a leader in the planning field, with high-level strategic and statutory planning experience across the public and private sectors. She has particular experience in strategic planning, policy development, masterplanning and major project facilitation. Sarah has recently returned from preparing a major Urban Framework Plan and Vision for the Government of Dubai, which will pay a seminal role in guiding the future urban growth and development of the Emirate for the next 20 years.
Sarah’s local and international expertise extends well beyond conventional urban planning and includes strategic advice to Governments on urban management and governance, broad scale urban regeneration, and strategic infrastructure planning. She regularly leads multi-disciplinary project teams and is highly experienced in consultation, structure planning, and is also an experienced expert witness in planning panels and VCAT matters.
Paul Quinlan
Company Secretary
Paul has a dual role with the Company. Firstly, working closely with Michael Barlow the Managing Director, he fulfils a strategic function in the growth and direction of Urbis. He assists and focuses on the development of business opportunities, acquisitions, joint venture arrangements and service offerings to the market place.
Concurrently Paul has national responsibility for the provision of high quality core business operations to support the professional service offerings and the ongoing management of the firm. The key areas of responsibility are Finance & Administration, Human Resources, Marketing and Information Technology.
Simon Rumbold
Director
Simon is a highly experienced advisor and analyst who has spent most of his 30 year career in the field of property economics and research. In addition to his Australian credentials, he also spent two years in the UK, specialising in the shopping centre market. Simon has a deep understanding of property projects, the successes and failures, how to spot opportunities and avoid pitfalls. He has steered research for groups such as Westfield, and provides expert evidence on major development proposals. Simon is National Director of the Property Economics division of Urbis.
Roger Scrivener
Director
Roger has over 30 years experience in the real estate sector, focusing on the valuation of commercial, retail and industrial properties. Since 1985 Roger has obtained particularly wide experience in relation to commercial property and during this time has valued all Premium-grade and many A-grade buildings in Melbourne. He also provides consultancy advice on property related issues.
David Usasz
Non Executive Director
David Usasz has an extensive background in business, management of professional services firms and property development. The majority of David’s professional career, including 30 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers, has been spent on advising businesses in both the Government and private sectors in relation to management issues surrounding success and growth. In addition, David, a Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce from UQ and a FCA, has had significant experience in advising and assisting on transactions for the development, merger or sale of businesses.
Since stepping down from his role at PwC, David has taken up a number of other major board and advisory positions and currently resides in Brisbane.
John Wynne
Director
John is a highly experienced consultant who has worked on a broad range of property projects throughout Australia. Specialising in town planning and development approval, John's strengths focus on advising and implementing appropriate strategies and concepts to maximise development outcomes.
