Urbis began as a property consulting firm in Melbourne in 1963. In July 2000, Urbis and Keys Young merged, adding social research and social planning to the mix.
JHD began as a property economics and market research firm in 1980. In October 2003, Urbis and JHD merged resulting in a multi-skilled consulting firm with offices across the eastern seaboard of Australia.
In 2007, after continued international success, Urbis opened its office in Dubai, UAE. This was shortly followed by the merger with Tract (WA) in June that year, Western Australia’s leading urban design and landscape architecture practice. Our urban design practice was further strengthened by the merger of March 2008 with Rohan Dickson & Associates in Sydney.
Today Urbis comprises over 350 staff. Owners of the business are actively practising in the company with a range of expertise focused on urban systems and communities.
